About:
Costa Rican coffee is prized for its vibrant acidity, medium body, and bright, clean flavours. Grown in fertile volcanic soil at high elevations, these coffees are known for their sweetness, clarity, and beautifully balanced character.

Entre Ríos, meaning “Between Rivers,” comes from Aquiares, one of Costa Rica’s most historic coffee farms, located high on the slopes of the Turrialba Volcano. This lot combines equal parts Marsellesa and Red Obata to create a sweet, clean, and structured cup with notes of cacao, caramel, orange peel, and grape.

The coffee is mechanically washed, followed by approximately eight hours of partial fermentation and 32 hours of mechanical drying. This careful processing helps preserve its clean profile while highlighting the natural sweetness and vibrant fruit character of the coffee.

Aquiares dedicates approximately 80% of its land to high-quality coffee production and the remaining 20% to conservation. More than a dozen natural springs and nearly 20 kilometres of streams run throughout the farm, creating protected natural corridors for local wildlife, birds, and plant life.

This coffee is particularly well-suited to drip and pour-over brewing, where its caramel sweetness, citrus brightness, and fruit notes can fully develop. It can also make an excellent espresso, particularly for those who enjoy a clean, bright, and expressive shot.
