  • About:

For five generations, the Pereira family has been dedicated to the noble crafts of coffee and milk production. Nestled in the picturesque Serra da Mantiqueira region, they strive to honor the heritage by embodying the essence of sustainable farming—integrating economic, social, and environmental responsibility into every aspect of their work. 🌿

The family’s commitment to sustainability is evident in every drop of water they use, sourced from pristine springs. The Fazenda's energy needs are met by solar panels, and the majority of the fertilizers are derived from composted dairy farming byproducts. This holistic approach ensures that the farm remains a model of ecological stewardship. 💧☀️

Situated at an altitude of 1100 to 1200 meters above sea level, in Carmo de Minas, Minas Gerais, Brazil, the Fazenda boasts a rich array of coffee varieties, including Acaiá, Catucaí Amarelo, and Bourbon Amarelo. These beans are meticulously nurtured and harvested by the dedicated team, led by José Antonio, his wife Valéria, and their sons Caio and Felipe. 🌄

During harvest, each coffee cherry is lovingly handpicked to preserve its delicate flavors. The cherries are collected thrice daily and transported to our mill, where they undergo processing—be it All Natural, Fully Washed, Honey, or Natural Pulped—ensuring that each cup of coffee embodies the essence of the terroir. 🍒☕

Beyond coffee, the farm integrates cattle into our ecosystem, enriching our soil and enhancing the biodiversity of our land. Furthermore, the commitment to sustainability extends to energy production, as evidenced by our photovoltaic plant that supplies all the electricity needed for our operations. 🐄🌱

At Serrado, coffee isn't just a crop—it's a way of life. With each passing year, the family strives to not only maintain but also enhance the legacy of their forefathers, ensuring that future generations can continue to savor the fruits of their labor. ❤️

  • About the process:

    Pulped Natural Coffee (Semi-washed Process)

The cherries are harvested and promptly transported to processing. Upon arrival, they undergo a meticulous de-pulping process, wherein the outer skin is skillfully removed, leaving the parchment tightly adhered to the coffee bean. This process also eliminates a portion of the pulp, though a notable amount of mucilage remains surrounding the bean. Subsequently, the beans are carefully dried, retaining some residual mucilage, flavor, and body.
