About:
This standout Peruvian coffee from Finca El Morito offers an exceptional balance of fruit, sweetness, and body — a shining example of high-altitude Cajamarca coffee. Cultivated in the lush San José de Lourdes district, this Yellow Caturra lot is grown between 1,700 and 1,900 MASL and processed using a meticulous washed method followed by patio drying.
Expect crisp red apple and citrus brightness layered over warm brown sugar sweetness. In the cup, it’s rich and rounded yet lively — beautifully clean and versatile across both Light and Medium roast profiles.
From the Importer:
Finca El Morito is managed by David Flores, a third-generation producer, alongside Felipe Estela. The 150-hectare farm and its network of family growers focus on sustainable practices — selective harvesting, waterless pulping, careful fermentation (8–12 hours in cherry, 72 hours in parchment), and 26–30 days of slow drying under solar tents and calamine dryers.
Environmentally friendly methods, compost-based fertilization, and local employment for 50+ families make El Morito not only an exceptional coffee producer but a force for community sustainability in northern Peru.
